FH user account

Every student receives their FH user account upon inscription. The account allows using all services of the FH JOANNEUM, e.g. WLAN access, E-mail, Printing, Server, Online administration etc. Important administrative tasks are accomplished with the account, so the password should always be kept current and working.

Password

The Password Management System (https://pwms.fh-joanneum.at/) can be used to reset or change the password.

Policy

This is the FH JOANNEUM password policy as of May 2017:

  • The password is at least 10 characters in length.
  • The password contains at least one lower case letter.
  • The password contains at least one upper case letter.
  • The password contains at least one number.
  • The password contains at least one special character (which are `~!@#$%^&*()-_=+[]{}\:;<>/?). Other special characters (like äöüÄÖÜß) are not allowed.
  • The password must not contain a word of any language, names or keyboard strings like abcd or asdf.
  • Passwords that have already been used must not be reused.
  • More than 24 hours must have been passed since the last password reset or change.
